Difference Between Juicing and Smoothies



Smoothies and juices are both favorable for most folks. They are
loaded with nutrients and healthier to take than soft drink or soda. Speaking about the recipes, we often find that they are made of same items of fruits and veggies, more detailed, in raw. That means they have such succulent texture and earthy flavor. But smoothies and juices are often confused by some folks. So, let’s talk about the differences here. 

When you make smoothie, you will end up consuming the whole items. For instance, if you blend a melon, then  you will take the full fruit. But when you do juicing, the fibrous portion is removed. So, what will be taken are liquid nutrients. Juicing can be done with 2 different methods, the traditional one and using juice extractor. In traditional method, you just need to squeeze the water manually. However, not all fruits can be juiced manually. Harder fruits like melon need to be done with extractor.

Different from juicing, when making smoothies, you will use blender. So you will blend the items to be a puree. In this part, you can add with other liquid, sweetener, milk, or other food item. Smoothies, unlike juices, are thicker and smoother. Many dieters choose smoothies because it is more filling and they won’t eat after drinking smoothies.

Juicing is a great way to take necessary nutrients as quick as possible. Juices are often a problem solver for those who don’t have much time for long prep recipes. The micronutrients consisted in the liquid form of juice is natural source of water coming with minerals, vitamins, proteins, carbs, as well as fatty acids. Most juices are also good to improve metabolism, which is important aspect in weight loss. The content of juice can energize and make you fit. To get the most of it, it is recommended to use fresh fruits and veggies to make juices.

Meanwhile, smoothies are filled with nutrients and lots of energy. You will not only get liquid to rehydrate, but also enough energy to cope with hectic activities. Smoothies, because of the filling nature, can help you maintain or lose weight. Unlike pharmaceutical weight loss pills, smoothies do not have side effects if consumed regularly in proper portion.

There is no worse or better, it is about the option. You you want to fill your stomach, smoothie can be great for you. Knowing the differences between smoothies and juices can help you choose which types of drink you need.
